Sunset From the Pedestrian From the Viewpoint of a Grackle

$400.00

Sunset From the Pedestrian Bridge #1 is from a series of studies I did in November of 2020. They were inspired by my obsession with the sky at dusk in Austin as viewed from the Lamar pedestrian bridge. It is part of a special running and biking trial off of our downtown, circling Lady Bird Lake that I have been running on for over 30 years. A Grackle is a common and abundant blackbird found in Austin.

The piece is made with the same hand mixed resin I have been using in my work for the past 10 plus years. It has a matte sheen and easy to clean surface.

The frame which is very integral to the piece more so than a standard frame is made of local Austin Cedar Elm from a tree I had milled up years back. The whole piece has been well prepared and ready to hang on a single nail or screw.

Dimensions: 15" x 15" x 2.25"
